I use these for accent/nightlights in my bathroom, great for places you can't put a real candle. If you pick one up or look real close, of course you can tell they're not real candles. But wiring and overlapping plastic are well hidden and they look great when lit. They do look fairly phony when they're off but for $20 these are exactly what I wanted.The remote works just fine. The 'light' setting makes the magnetic wicks flicker and gives off a constant brightness from the candle, while the 'candle' setting causes the wicks to be stationary and the actual candle's brightness to flicker. Videos make the 'candle' setting look really bad, but in real life it's very smooth. I do wish the wicks flickered on the 'candle' setting and not on the 'light' setting, but no big deal.While I doubt these are really waterproof, I almost immediately forgot to remove them from my shower and got all three wet, and they still work great almost a month later.I've had the same batteries in them for almost a month and they're on a timer from 8pm to 2am every day with random usage in between.Was impressed by their appearance and performance, the remote control was handy, from bed I could adjust each candle individually.Comes in handy when we lose our electric in the middle of the night, enough lighting to find your way around house without the worries of a fire ..I love the quality and look of these lights they are so easy to use, I love the flickering and the easy on and off with the remote. I have a few sets and use 1 remote to control all of them. I have a set in my lanterns outside on the front porch which look like real flickering candles at night. They are Awesome!!!!I am in love w these candles they look like a real candle and the timer works perfectly they turn on by themselves everyday for the time you set then for... I just love them!!These candles are exactly what I was looking for. They are easy to set-up and so far perform as beautifully. Very realistic!I had older one that I wou lol d have to turn on by turning them over and using the little on off switch. So easy and fast now to use the little remote! Love them.!I buy these instead of the ones with the wax on top because I use them outdoors and I live in Arizona and wax one's melt these look very realistic very nice would definitely purchase again matter of fact I have purchased again and again and again and again I love them for crafting itemsThese lights are working great so far - I have them outdoors and appreciate the fact they can withstand this Iowa weather!
