This is a great candle smells and looks like a man. I am sitting here smelling it while I write this review in order to provide the most accurate description possible. It has a very clean and woody scent. Masculine, however, I am sure many females would enjoy this as well. I can definitely smell notes of Cedar. There are some notes of thyme and basil, however, they are a bit more subtle. All together they are blended very well to make a great and unique scent that I have never before smelled. The fragrance throw is about medium. It will make a room smell but can take some time fill the room with scent. Best suited for small or medium sized rooms. It is harder to get more fragrance throw with soy (compared to paraffin) but it much healthier and non-toxic for you, unlike other candles! With that being said, there was an inconsistency with the listing. This may be a seller dependent issue, however, mine was shipped in a different box (not the cloth covered box that was shown). While this is not a big deal it is inconsistent with the listing. I will attach photos so that you can see the box that mine was shipped in.Altogether, very happy with my purchase and can not wait to try another one from the library collection!I'm a big fan of paddywax candles, especially the alpine series, but this one was disappointing. It wasn't the smell, the smell is fantastic. The cedar is the more prevalent scent in the Oscar Wilde candle, and the subtle undertones of thyme and basil give it a complexity that's refreshing. The scent is also very pure. I have a gripe with cheaper candles - I get bad headaches. This one does not give me an issue. As mentioned in other reviews, the box it came in was not the cloth covered box. It was just a cheap cardboard box. I expected that but I still find it annoying that the stock photo suggests you should be getting something else. The glass that holds the candle is quite nice. It's simple, classy looking, and fairly durable. I dropped it on a linoleum floor right out of the box and it didn't even crack. My gripe and downgrade lies in the fact that unless you hold this candle up to your nose, you can barely smell it, if you can smell it at all. This isn't a case of having a poor sense of smell. My sense of smell is so over the top that I can smell an open trash can or someone's perfume from rooms away when no one else can. I can barely smell the candle when lit, and it takes a very long time for me to even get a whiff of the scent. My boyfriend walked in from outside, and was in the kitchen for over an hour before he realized it was going. What's the point of an expensive scented candle if it doesn't do its job? This is a beautiful candle and probably gives a long burn time, which ups the value factor, so it will just be a question of whether you like really strongly scented candles, and whether you like this particular scent--it has many layers and I think I like a couple of them but others, not so much. It is like putting your nose into a bottle of men's aftershave or cologne of the type that has a lot of lime in it. If you like lighter scents or just essential oils this might not be your cuppa tea. The box and glass holder are nice quality, it was just too strong for me.Let me start by saying I love the candles by this company, and the library serious candles make fun, thoughtful gifts. The packaging is beautiful and inviting. I think they are a little pricey, but in comparison to the quality and pricing of similar candles, it's average for cost. These have burned evenly for me, and I love this particular scent when I need to create a cozy environment or for freshing up the man cave without sacrifing the sanctity of its manliness.I absolutely love the ways this candle smells – it's very crisp but somehow warm. The presentation, like all Paddywax candles, is also really nice, and these candles make great housewarming/hostess gifts (I especially like the quote on this Wilde candle). However, like a lot of the Paddywax candles I've purchased recently, the scent is barely there unless you put this candle in a small room, like a bathroom. We can burn it for HOURS in our living room and barely notice a thing. So while it's nice, and I really like the smell and presentation, for the price I would not buy again. I don't like my candles to have an overwhelming scent (think Yankee Candle) but I do like them to produce SOMETHING, especially when I'm paying this much. In general, I am moving away from Paddywax candles because I've noticed this is a persistent problem. Unless you're buying for a small room or you're more focused on presentation, I would advise you to consider a different brand. This is my favorite in the library series! I especially love cedarwood and it comes across beautifully in this candle. The hint of thyme and basil are delicious! I do not understand the reviews that say it doesn't give off enough aroma. I live in a very large home and can smell the candle on different floors... not overwhelmingly, but a hint elsewhere. The room it's in of course is filled, but again not too strong as I am highly sensitive to "fake or chemical smells" This is the perfect candle for me. Long lasting, burns all the way up too, no wax left!It was packed fantastic liked that! The scent was not strong at all sadly! It pools nicely however the sent was quite disappointing. My friend finds this a relaxing and thoughtful gift. They're a fan of good reads and self-care, so this is a good match!Huele delicioso y el olor es duradero. La cera igual es durable. My husband’s favourite scented candle
